Our Program
Boys & Girls Clubs offer young people 6 to 18 years of age what they want and need most: staff members who are role models who respect and listen to them; a safe environment where they can be themselves and have fun, and constructive activities to channel their youthful energy.
During the school year, hours are 2:30-6:30 p.m. Summer hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m, with a special "early bird" program from 7-9a.m. at select sites.
All Clubs are equipped with computers and all members receive instruction and guidance to encourage computer literacy.
The Youth Development Strategy at all Boys & Girls Clubs emphasizes:
- A sense of competence, the feeling that there is something they can do and do well.
- A sense of usefulness, the opportunity to do something of value for others.
- A sense of belonging, in a setting where they feel accepted and have programs designed just for them.
- A sense of power and influence, a chance to be heard and influence decisions.
The Clubs offer members daily access to a broad range of programs:
- Character and Leadership Development
- Education and Career Development
- Health & Life Skills
- The Arts
- Sports, Fitness and Recreation
