Message from the President

Everyday I am amazed by the wonderful work being done by the staff and volunteers at the Boys & Girls Clubs across Pitt County.  Each time I step through the doors of one of our Clubs it is obvious to me children are being affected in a positive and safe environment. When I think of the challenges facing our community I can’t help but think of the life changing, even life saving, programs our Clubs offer.  In the past year we continued with programs such as Power Hour, SMART Moves, and Street SMART each targeted at improving the prospects of youth in our community and empowering them to be successful leaders for years to come. What more could we want for our children, particularly those who need us the most?  As important, how can we further expand and enhance the opportunities for our youth in the coming months?

Although all these incredible things are happening within the Clubs, we have continued to evaluate our organization from top to bottom. We realize evaluation and reinvention of the organization and our programs throughout the year is one of the essential duties of the Corporate Board. During these difficult times we have held many successful events, all of which help us fund and improve the programming being offered within our Clubs.  As a board we are conscious that each dollar is precious to our organization and pledge to continue to be good stewards of these funds and the public trust placed in each of us.  We do not accept this charge lightly, and understand the responsibility lies within each of us to continue our efforts at making the Clubs the most positive and uplifting places possible for youth in our community.

We have experienced great change over the past year and look forward to the year to come. Thank you for all you do for the Boys & Girls of Pitt County and I look forward to a great year for us all!
