Jarvis Club, Downtown Greenville

Jarvis Club provides after school learning, recreational, and spiritual growth opportunities for children living in downtown Greenville. Many of these children are “at risk”.
Transportation is provided from area schools to Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church by the Pitt County School System at no cost to the members. To participate, children must be registered with the Boys & Girls Clubs and pay a minimal membership fee. The success of the program depends on volunteers from ECU, the church family and the community at large. Children receive opportunities for Christian growth and development of life skills in a safe, healthy, and diverse environment.
The programs offered to the members are varied and exciting! In addition to homework assistance and tutoring, children enjoy directed recreation and sports activities in the Taft Christian Life Center Gym and on the playground. Field trips are a regular part of the Club experience, as well as the Computer Lab which is utilized daily by Club members.
