Welcome to the official site of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Pitt County!
Now in its 38th year of operation, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Pitt County serves more than 2,000 children. The club has a total of four operations: Two locations in Greenville and one in Aydenand one in FarmvilleNorth Carolina. The main unit is the Jack Minges Uniton Fire Tower Road in Greenville. The other location in Greenville is the NorthPitt Unit.
The Clubs’ many programs designed especially for young people are supported by the United Way of Pitt County, The Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and through state grants, foundations grants, and contributions by private individuals and corporations. The Clubs also raise a significant amount of their budget with special events such as the Dinner Auction. Small fees are charged for membership and transportation from the county’s schools. Scholarships are available to families who can’t afford the fees.
The Boys & Girls Club of Pitt County, Jack Minges Unit, has one of the largest average daily attendance of any club in the United States! It is nationally recognized for operating efficiency, with 87% of all funds going directly to its youth service programs.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Pitt County has enlarged its physical facilities and added locations in recent years, largely with the assistance of the Governor’s Support Our Students (S.O.S.) Program. Although this and other programs have helped to address the growing need for effective youth services, there are still more than 100 children on the membership waiting list.
